TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Nine Sahuarita High School students have been arrested in connection with an alleged assault of another student.

According to Sahuarita Police Department, the incident happened Tuesday evening in the school's locker room at 350 W. Sahuarita Road. A group of students was observed forcing another student to the ground and physically assaulting him, police say.

The nine offenders, all members of the Sahuarita wrestling team, were each charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of kidnapping.

The victim and six of the students charged are juveniles.

Also charged were Andres Vasquez, 18, of Amado; Jorge Loya-Lopez, 18, of Sahuarita; and Marcus Stitts, 18, of Sahuarita.

Police say the investigation is continuing, but so far they believe the incident is either a case of bullying or hazing.
